The tributes are pouring in today as fans of The Braxton family mourn the passing of sister Traci Braxton. The 50-year-old reality star was beloved by many, with several friends, family, and fans taking to social media today to say their farewells. Despite her fighting spirit, she has unfortunately passed away to cancer. Let’s see some of the tributes below.
The family all shared the same caption, while each member chose different pictures to highlight their lost angel. Mother Evelyn shared a red carpet memory with Traci, where the pair can be seen smiling and standing close to each other. In the caption, the family shares the devastating news, noting that Traci was a bright light, a wonderful daughter, a beloved mother and grandmother, and a gifted performer. Traci reportedly passed early this morning just as the snow began falling. For The Braxton family, they feel like her sister is now a snowflake as she transitions. They went on to ask for respect and privacy at this time.
Toni Braxton shared the same caption on her page, but with a photo of her and her sisters as the world knows and loves them. The beautiful black and white image showed the fierce fivesome sporting beautiful braids and hair jewelry. Toni’s comments featured condolences from some of her famous friends, including Jennifer Hudson, who said, “Will be praying for u all.” MC Lyte chimed in saying, “My heart is with you, my sister 💜”
Towanda shared the same image as Toni and caption. One fan commented, “I’m really crying. Traci had the best personality, hands down, and was really the realest💜 I feel like we all lost an auntie. Sending love and light to her family❤️.”
Towanda’s last post with sister Traci was of them having dinner at the White House. “My best and most favorite date ever!! Heeeeeeeeeey Michelle!! This day was epic! 😂😂 @therealtracibraxton” she shared in the happy memory. Trina followed suit with the same post and caption. Her last post with Traci was a clip of the sisters singing “Mary Did You Know” on The Real posted around Christmas. Tamar Braxton has yet to post on Traci’s passing but did share a picture of her sisters on International Women’s Day earlier this week.
Traci’s son Kevin shared a heartfelt post with an image of him embracing his mother. “When I heard the news about my mother being sick first thing she said was I’m going to fight and beat this,” he recalled. “She fought to the end, and today she’s at peace. I love my mother forever, and this hurts so much, but I’m at peace knowing she’s isn’t in pain anymore.”
Over on his IG story, he shared a clip of his mother speaking love into her sisters on an episode of their series Braxton Family Values. In the video, Traci is seen thanking her sisters for the things they bring into her life. In the caption, Traci reflected on that day, saying, “It’s times like this when you have to reflect, heal your mind, and make personal changes to be successful … Love Life and family.” Kevin also shared some funnier clips of her crazy antics on the show, reminding people of why they fell in love with her. Traci was only 50 years old and is survived by Kevin Jr, her sisters, brother and her mother.
