Tory Lanez’s guilty verdict has many people happy. Unfortunately, it is not a win for those closest too him. After his father was seen online venting to an audience outside of the courtroom, it was also revealed that his young son was in tears following the verdict. The boy was seen coming into court with his father over the last eight days.

It is unclear if he thought bringing the boy to court would win him any sympathy, but several photos of Lanez coming out of the trial with his son have gone viral over the last week. The six-year-old’s name is Kai, and he arrived back on April 12, 2017. At the time, Tory had this to say about his boy. “What’s special about him [and] what a lot of people don’t know [is that] the day my son was born was the day I got locked [up.],” Lanez says he was coming out of the hospital and was immediately taken into custody by police. Lanez was arrested for various charges including “failure to register a motor vehicle, driving without a valid driver’s license, and failure to show proof of liability insurance.” This all stemmed from a 2014 traffic stop.
Tory has kept his son and baby mother under wraps for much of his time in the spotlight. He recently said he did not have any issues with her and child support and claimed, “my baby moms, I’m never on no bad terms. I’m not one of that child support… you know, situations. We’ve got a good understanding of what’s going on.” His son has only been seen publicly more recently during his visits to court with the boy and in some social media posts.
Kai reportedly got emotional following an outburst from his grandfather Sonstar Peterson, who accused the court of being “wicked” after Tory was declared guilty. His father then went outside and vented to anyone who would listen that his son was innocent and blamed Roc Nation for their lack of support. Poor Kai witnessed it all and cried while his father tried to console him.
“So he traumatized his own child by trying to use him for sympathy. Sounds like a bad dad to me,” said one person.
