While our favorite rappers prep verses to shoot their shot, her step-dad Steve Harvey is already throwing support behind her after previously declaring his love for Michael B Jordan.
Steve Harvey Keeps An Ounce Of Hatred For All Of Lori Harvey’s Boyfriends
Steve Harvey is one of the most successful men on television, so it takes a lot to impress him. As a result, he’s never been super on board with anyone Lori’s dated.
During an interview with Ellen Degeneres last year, Steve revealed that he “got rid of” Lori’s boyfriends if he did not like them. “All of them,” he told Ellen. He admits that some “Snuck in through the back door” and stayed around a little longer than he would have liked, but they eventually would go away.
Future got wind of this, and in his verse on 42, Dugg’s single “Maybach” made sure to address it. According to Future, no one chased him off, and it was actually him who broke things off with Lori. He claims she begged him to come back. “Tell Steve Harvey I don’t want her/Must have forgotten to tell her daddy she begged me not to leave,” he said in the scathing diss.
Steve Harvey Never Seen Lori Harvey As Happy As She Was With Michael B. Jordan
During the same Ellen interview, Steve admits that the case was completely different for Michael B Jordan. Steve says that Jordan spent Christmas with them and was a really good gift giver. “That boy comes through,” he said before listing off some of the nice things Jordan got the family.
He told people magazine in September that he was really happy about the pair and had never seen Lori so content with someone. He admits this was a first and that usually either he doesn’t like the guy or she doesn’t seem 100% on board. “It’s the first time I’ve been happy for her [in a relationship]. And it’s the first time she’s been happy.”
Steve Harvey Tried Hard To Find Something Wrong With Michael B. Jordan
Despite how much he liked Michael B Jordan, Steve Harvey admits that he initially tried to find something wrong with the A-list actor. This attempt proved to be fruitless, and Steve only found more and more things to like about the “Black Panther” star. “He is one of the nicest guys, man. I met his father. I’ve sat up with him. We’ve talked for hours. I just can’t find nothing wrong with him. I’m hoping to.”

Steve Harvey commended Michael B Jordan for the way he conducted himself during the family’s Christmas celebration. Harvey says that Jordan gifted his wife some skis and proclaimed, “The only way you give your potential mother-in-law some skis is because you want her to be your mother-in-law.”
Despite believing that Jordan and Lori were on the path to a proposal of some sort, Steve made sure to keep Michael on his toes during his time dating his step-daughter. While talking with the ladies of the Today Show, Steve said that he was not sure how he’d feel about them getting engaged and went back and forth between yes and no before taking a big sip of whiskey and laughing. Steve says he’s already given away two daughters and that the decision is never easy, but he seemed very supportive and excited for Lori.

Now that things are over, Steve is practicing a bit of detachment. In a recent interview, he made sure not to let his fondness of Michael B Jordan overshadow his daughter’s decision to part ways with him. Steve says he’s still team Lori 100% and understands that break-ups happen. Steve believes the two will be just fine. “She’s my daughter. I love her, I support her.”
Steve believes that as long as things are amicable and the two can move on in a civil matter, there is no reason to have any animosity towards Michael. “As long as you don’t put your hands on my daughter, I don’t give a damn what you do.”
