Shemar Moore is officially a dad. The film star has spent years on our screens wooing women with his signature smile and abs. Now off the market, Moore is stepping into the journey of fatherhood at the ripe age of 52. Let’s take a look at his career and find out who the lucky lady is.
Shemar Moore is one of the hardest-working actors in Black Hollywood. Active since 1994, he got his start on the soap opera The Young and The Restless, where he starred as Malcolm Winters for over ten years. From there, he shifted into the primetime world with starring roles in Criminal Minds between 2005 and 2016, and currently, S.W.A.T on CBS. Moore was the host of Soul Train from 1999 to 2003, as well as a film star with movies like The Brothers, Dairy of a Mad Black Woman, and some voice acting work as Cyborg in several Justice League films.
Moore’s dating life has been relatively quiet despite being such a hit with the ladies. Lowkey relationships with soccer star Shawna Gordon in 2014 and Quantico actress Annabella Acosta in 2018 are confirmed. He’s also had rumored relationships with Halle Berry, Sanaa Lathan, Toni Braxton, and Vivica A. Fox.
Up until recently, it seems like work was always Moore’s priority. One glance at his social media, and it is all clips from the set of S.W.A.T. Despite being one of four children, information or photos of his siblings are hard to come by. A google search of his brother Romeo only leads to photos of Boris Kodjoe, another actor who, like Moore, was a staple in the ’00s heartthrob era. It is unclear if Moore is an uncle, but he was very close to his mother, Marilyn Joan Wilson Moore, who passed away in 2020.
Moore is stepping into fatherhood with model Jesiree Dizon. In a video from their baby shower, Moore talked about it being a “very special day,” and the day he found out the gender of his baby. He shouted out his mother and proclaimed, “Momma, I did it,” before saying that she would be really proud of him and how much he missed her. He says he wanted to make it happen while his mother was alive, but he knows she is smiling down from heaven. Jesiree chimed in, saying she was excited and looking forward to whatever they had. She is already a mother to her five-year-old daughter named, Charlie.
Moore revealed that if it were a boy, they would be naming him Legend, and if it were a girl, they would be naming her Frankie. Moore’s middle name is Franklin. They continued to speak to the excited crowd of family and friends as they prepared to find out the gender. Up in the sky, a helicopter flew past, and everyone looked up for the reveal. “it’s about to happen right now!”
Update: Baby Frankie was scheduled to arrive in February. However, it appears she arrived a few days early. Moore spoke on the birth of his daughter stating he finally made his mother’s dream come true by becoming a father.
