NBA legend Scottie Pippen is famous for many reasons. His illustrious NBA career, his messy split from wife Larsa Pippen, and his many, many feuds. The former player has had some pretty famous beefs, with some being rather strange. One of the most craziest feuds recently came to an end when the former NBA settled a lawsuit against a 5-year-old and her parents. Let’s take a look back over the years and the many people who have been on the receiving end of Pippen’s wrath before getting into the reason he attempted to sue a 5-year-old girl.
In one of his most public feuds, Scottie Pippen particularly took issue with Michael Jordan and hated playing second fiddle to one of the greatest players of all time. This energy was on full display back when Michael Jordan dropped the docu-series “The Last Dance.” While the film was supposed to center on the Bull’s Dynasty and their final season, it seemed to center primarily on Jordan and cut Pippen out. Pippen would later slam Jordan in his autobiography UnGuarded and reveal that he and his former teammate were never close. He also called Michael “condescending” and said that he often felt like a prop for the team and not a real teammate. Pippen also took issue with Jordan being paid $10 million to participate in the documentary. No one else from the Bulls Dynasty was paid for the series.
Another teammate Pippen has feud with his Charles Barkley. They shared the court together for one season in 1999 while on the Houston Rockets. Pippen was so unhappy on the team that they traded him to the Trail Blazers a year later. Their feud has been so bad that even over 20 years later, the men refuse to speak with each other. Pippen says Barkley has been waiting on an apology from him all this time that he will never receive. He says even at gunpoint, he would never make nice with his former team player and criticized his weight and performance during their time playing together. “He can never expect an apology from me. If anything, he owes me an apology for coming to play with his sorry fat butt,” Pippen said in 1999. He doubled down in 2021, saying that Barkley has never fought another black man and that he would beat him in a fight.
Kevin Durant and Scottie traded some words as well. Pippen decided to share his opinion on Durant and his playing skills, comparing him to Lebron James. He argued that James would have succeeded where Durant failed as far as leading his team to the championship. Durant, aware of some of Pippen’s pettiness from back in the day, reminded everyone how Pippen threw a tantrum when he found out a play was not written for him. “Didn’t the great Scottie Pippen refuse to go in the game for the last-second shot because he was in his feelings his coach drew up the play for a better shooter??”
Despite Scottie Pippen’s feuds with Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley and Kevin Durant’s lasting for years at this point, none of them have reached the level of petty as his lawsuit against comedian Lindsay Glazer, her husband Jacob Woloshin, and their 5-year-old daughter. Pippen initially sued the couple back in 2018 for damages he claims they made to a Miami home he rented to them between 2017 and 2018. The former NBA player claimed his 9,669 sq. ft. mansion was returned with over $100k in damages.
Rather than moving forward with lawsuit against Woloshin and Glazer, Pippen decided to amend the lawsuit and add their 5-year-old daughter’s name to the legal document. Pippen claimed the 5-year-old was responsible for defacing his property and wanted to hold her accountable as well. In the documents Pippen claimed the child had drawn all over the house in markers and crayons. Outside of the 5-year-old’s ‘drawings,’ in the lawsuit – Pippen also accused her parents of allowing the home to become infested with insects and mold.
Many thought this was a petty move to include a 5-year-old and called out Pippen for it. He eventually dropped the lawsuit in January of this year and was able to sell the house for $11 million. According to Radaronline, both parties agreed to pay their own legal fees . The home was heavily featured in Real Housewives of Miami during Larsa’s storyline.
