Nene Leakes is not afraid of getting a little nip and tuckThe reality television star has paid good hard money for her million-dollar looks and never misses an opportunity to flaunt her mega-watt smile or flash her carefully crafted body in revealing outfits. She’s got the dough for it, thanks to her incredible success on the small screen and beyond. In recent months, Nene has found a new lease on life following the passing of her husband, Gregg Leakes. She’s found new love, new work endeavors, and apparently, a new body modification.
Before bringing her classic attitude and sass to the Real Housewives universe, Nene tried for a few years to become an actress. One-off roles on The Parkers and The Fighting Temptations starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and Beyonce did not do much for her career. Reality television proved to be her real calling as she helped solidify The Real Housewives of Atlanta series during its inaugural season. Leakes would go on to star in the series’ first seven seasons before taking a back seat in Season 8 as a supporting castmember despite still earning a massive salary.
During her journey on Real Housewives, Leakes began getting upgrades to match her growing spotlight. In 2020 she opened up to Essence Magazine about some of the procedures she had, saying, “I’m very comfortable and confident in myself.” Leakes said that she is not shy about getting a “tune-up” and got several things done between seasons of Real Housewives.
In 2010 she says she got her first rhinoplasty, that she touched up again in 2016. She told a caller on Watch What Happens Now, “Yes, I had my nose done again” that same year. At the time, Nene defended the decision to go back and get work again, stating there were real “medical reasons” for the work. “My cartilage was growing in my nose, and my tip was touching the top of my lip,” she told Andy Cohen. “I didn’t get a full rhinoplasty the first time. No, when I did the first time, I only had my nostrils taken in on the side the very first time, and then this time, I had more cartilage moved around in my nose.” She continued, “I always keep it very, very real. So you can always ask me anything,” she said. “I would never just do my nose just for the purpose of doing my nose.”
Nene also got a breast reduction and breast lift to achieve a more comfortable look for herself. “If anything falls, I pick it up!” the Fashion Police star told US Magazine. “As long as you don’t look plastic, a little nip and tuck is OK!” She revealed that she got “liposuction around her waist for more contouring.” Leakes also got veneers as well.
Leakes defended herself against online trolls and said people should understand that her choice to get work done is something for herself. “I got a lot of comments about it, too, on my social media. People are constantly judging and picking people apart. It’s absolutely horrible,” she said. “So people don’t even know what the purpose is. First of all, educate yourself and get the reason why.”
Leakes is taking an even more public approach with her next procedure. Instead of talking about it in an interview after she’s done, Nene is taking fans on the journey from the very beginning. On her IG, Nene did a joint post with Georgia Plastic, an Atlanta-based plastic surgeons’ office. In her caption, she said, “I did it! I got a ‘๐๐ซ๐จ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐’ with Dr. Okoro!
