R&B Singer Sammie’s Mother Taken Into Custody, Here’s Everything We Know

R&B singer Sammie is trending; unfortunately, it’s not for his music. The R&B singer’s mother, Angila Baxter, is in a world of trouble after randomly taking the life of a mother of two. The senseless incident occurred in Orange Country, FL, and now Sammie’s mother is facing some serious time. 

According to reports, Sammie’s mother, Baxter, 56, was firing into random vehicles because she assumed she was being followed. Sadly, 27-year-old Nekaybaw Collier was struck in her abdomen and passed away. Immediately following the incident, Orange County announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the capturing of the individual responsible. However, it was 

There’s little known about 27-year-old Nekaybaw Collier, but she was a mother of two baby girls. According to her family, Collier “was kind, caring, smart, talented, and beautiful.” Collier was headed home from the grocery store when Baxter randomly began firing her weapon. News 6 spoke with Collier’s mother and husband, who described her as their best friend. “She was everything to us,” they stated. Her mother and husband gathered at Downey Park with several dozen friends and family members on January 19th to remember the mother of two.

According to an affidavit, there was another incident on the same day where another man was injured by who he described as a black woman in a similar Red SUV. Days later, another woman came forward after being involved in a similar incident. The woman claimed she stopped next to a woman in a red SUV who began yelling and cursing at her, asking, “why are you following me? Who are you?” 

Nekaybaw Iyonna Collier’s family has created a GoFundMe account and looking to raise $50,000. According to her family, the money raised will cover the costs of memorial and funeral expenses and provide care and mental health services for her two beautiful daughters. 

R&B Singer Sammie has not released any statements regarding his mother or the incident. However, according to his social media, Sammie has been keeping busy doing club appearances in New Orleans, Dallas, and, most recently, Arizona. It appears Sammie is trying to remain positive. The incident occurred on January 12th, and the singer shared a positive video on Instagram stating “peace, light and love today” on January 15th. Sammie also told his fans and followers to smile and be kind.
