The battle between Kanye West and Pete Davidson wages on today as private chat between the pair made its way to social media. Many are calling out Pete for some disrespectful comments made during their conversation, but considering the history they have, others think it’s about time Pete fires back. Kanye has made it his mission to roast Pete every possible chance he’s had over the last few months and some thing her deserves to get his feelings hurt. Let’s look back on the several times Kanye West has come for Pete’s neck.
Pete Davidson is currently dating Kanye West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian. The pair met on SNL last September she the SKIMS mogul hosted. Shortly after, rumors began circulating that they had become an item. Kanye and Kim’s divorce was finalized some time afterward despite the fact that they had been split up for a while. Kanye began taunting Pete online, taking issue in particular with a 2018 sketch on SNL where Pete rocked a “Make Kanye 2006 Again” hat in the style of Trump’s MAGA hats. Pete asks West to get back on medication. Davidson also suffered from mental illness and joked that the pills had done wonders for him. Kanye took aim at this segment and decided to issue some really late “payback” in the form of a hate campaign levied against Davidson where West’s fans harassed him on social media and called him “Skete.”
West claimed victory shortly after this, thanks to Pete Davidson opting to get off Instagram completely. Pete had been off the platform for over three years due to his mental health and had only returned to promote his upcoming film “The Home.” Unfortunately, West’s fans flooded his comments with hate and forced him to delete it again. West was so proud of this moment and bragged about it on his own page to the delight of his fans.
West then released the song “Eazy,” featuring The Game, which made reference to his broken family and his wife’s new boyfriend. In the record, he boasts that “God saved me from the crash, just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s a**,” referring to his infamous 2002 crash that left his jaw wired shut. Kanye followed up the song’s release with a video depicting him harming a Pete Davidson-looking claymation stop motion character before planting his head in the ground and watering it like a plant. He then came back and picked the roses that grew from Pete’s head.
In a second video for the song, Kanye continued to taunt Davidson. This time the video shows a 3D animation West and a version of the skinless monkey from the song’s album cover beating up a Pete Davidson-looking person wearing a red “Skete” hoodie. West defended his art in a deleted IG post, saying that while his art is inspired by his life, any assumption that he intends real violence on Pete Davidson is false.
West tried to one-up Pete on Valentine’s day as well. While Khloe shared a photo of a bouquet of roses Pete gifted her, Kanye shared a post of a black truck filled with roses that he had pull up to Kardashian’s home. On the side of the truck, he said, “My vision is Krystal Klear.”
Despite all of the madness and nastiness West has spewed towards Davidson, the comedian attempted to clear the air in a text exchange currently going viral. Pete messaged Kanye, asking him to calm down and allude to West doing something extreme earlier that day. Pete then went on to sing Kim’s praises as a mother and offer Kanye an opportunity to talk man to man in private. West fired back, trying to taunt Pete and ask where he was. Finally, Pete delivered the devastating blow saying that he was in bed with West’s wife and sending a picture of him with his tongue out.
While many thought this was a low blow, several felt that Pete’s stance on West’s behavior is admirable and supported the comics’ attempt to make amends. “Minus the ‘in bed with your wife’ part, what Pete was saying is 💯👏🏽👏🏽” said one follower. “Pete had every right to say something… Kanye had publicly harassed him because he wanted his family back,” said another. Despite many trying to come to West’s defense, a lot of people have had enough and support Pete is firing back and even taking a dig at West because he deserves it. “So y’all gone sit here and act like Kanye wasn’t messing with this man for all these weeks now skeet said he in bed with his wife now yall saying Kanye’s was right 😂😂😂😂 when the pickee becomes the picker it’s not funny anymore.”
