Actor Marlon Wayans Thankful He Doesn’t Have To Worry About Boys When It Comes To His 22-Year-Old Daughter

Comedian and Actor Marlon Wayans is feeling relieved. While some parents may feel a bevy of emotions after their child comes out, he’s feeling joyful. But during one of his latest interviews, Wayans explained why he’s grateful and has one less thing to worry about when it comes to his daughter now.

Marlon Wayans and his daughter, Amai Zackery Wayans, share a great father-daughter relationship. Born on May 24, 2000, the Respect star revealed in 2019 that his firstborn came out to him at the tender age of fourteen. Wayans spoke with The Cruz Show on Los Angeles radio station Real 92.3, where he detailed Amai’s coming-out story. The actor told a funny story of his daughter approaching him and revealing that she might be a lesbian, but with the lyrics to Katy Perry’s breakout hit single “I Kissed A Girl.” Marlon Wayans jokingly said that he wished Amai broke the news to him with an artist he liked, such as Aretha Franklin or Beyonce, but he was okay with the information.

The Marlon star added that he holds no judgment toward his children and their choices. Additionally, Wayans expressed the lesson he learned from this experience: “unconditional love.”   “And, I think it’s my job to love my kid,” said Marlon Wayans.

The acclaimed actor recently appeared on Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 radio station, where he claimed that Amai revealing that she’s a lesbian was the “best thing [his] daughter ever said” to him. In addition, Marlon Wayans expressed joy because, as a father, he no longer had to worry about young boys trying to become intimate with his daughter or chasing them away.  “All of them little crusty boys, I ain’t gotta worry about nothing,” said Marlon Wayans. In addition, he says that when Amai tells him that she’s going out with her partner, he gladly tells her to “enjoy” and even extends financial support. “I ain’t got no beef,” the actor revealed.
