Megan Thee Stallion could be gearing up for another major loss. After years of fighting through adversity to become of the biggest stars in the world, she is still faced with the possibility that she may not get justice following her 2022 fight with Tory Lanez. Megan Thee Stallion has been dealing with grief since she was very young. Born Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, Meg’s father was in jail for much of her life, getting out when she was eight years old. He would eventually pass away during her freshman year of high school, which was a huge loss for Megan. “My dad was definitely my best friend,” she told Marie Claire. She recalled how well her father treated her and her mother and said he’s the reason why she never settles when it comes to men. His name was Joseph Pete Jr., and according to Megan, he was a “full-time hustler” before passing away. Her family has kept the cause of his death private.
Megan’s mother, Holly Thomas, would finish raising her alone. Holly was a rapper as well and went by Holly-Wood. Megan says she was used to watching her mother working on music between jobs and picked up her work ethic. Holly would see her daughter’s talents and decided to pour into them, becoming her manager. Holly helped Megan become a star but unfortunately passed away in 2019 from brain cancer.
Losing her mother at the height of her career taking off was made worst when Meg discovered that her grandmother had also passed away just two weeks later. Megan spoke about her grandmother in 2021 while accepting a humanitarian award. “My grandma always taught me to be kind and giving. I learned that from her. I was raised by very giving women.” Her grandmother’s cause of death was never revealed.

Megan opened up about the toll the losses had taken on her during an IG live around Christmas 2019. “Although all these positive things have been happening to me, and I’ve been trying to do good, been trying to keep a smile on my face, stay strong, to stay happy for me and my other grandmother and the rest of my family, it’s pretty hard.” She has said in other interviews that is still in a bad place when it comes to the topic of her mother and great grandmother but they raised her to be strong.
Megan is an only child and lost her best friend Kelsey in 2022 due to her fight with Tory Lanez. This incident left her foot injured and her relationship with Kelsey in shambles. These days, Megan Thee Stallion seems to pour most into her music, her fans, and her boyfriend, Pardison Fontaine.

Megan Thee Stallion is currently in court with Tory Lanez and awaiting a verdict in connection to their fight. If she losses here, this could be another terrible loss for her.
